Power Training: An Essential Strategy for ALL Older Adults

There may be no one single training strategy that is more effective at retaining and enhancing physical abilities in older adults than power training.  For over 20 years the research proving its effectiveness has continued to mount and it seems to be especially important for frail and pre-frail individuals.  In this session we will briefly review the research on power training before exploring practical strategies that can be used by therapists and fitness professionals with clients ranging from frail to fit.  Specific exercises and programming recommendations will be presented.
